Flamenco dancers in Spain, painted from a photo I took during my travels. The dance, energy and singing are so passionate. I wanted to capture the intensity of this dance. On a stage in a dark bar, a mood was set, and then the singing and dance began. This is a study for a larger painting.

Just before Christmas 2014 I was up in Grand Rapids, MN, at the Reif Center watching rehearsals for the annual student production of The Nutcracker. This painting captures the dancers off stage listening to instructions before the final rehearsal. This is the first of a series of Reif Center paintings.
