Figure Study St. Paul

Monday, 05 March 2007 [01:31:36 GMT]

This is a study from the friday night portrait session. I love the composition of this painting and I love the empty shape to the left of the painting. All of the lines in the leg, arm and spaces lead the viewer to the model's face.

This portrait is of a Tibetan man that we painted from a life session at his home. It was so interesting to see how the Tibetan's live.

Wind

Painted from a portrait session, I wanted to add some energy to this piece. So I put the portrait on one side and added some strong brush strokes with the tinted canvas showing underneath.

This was one of my first still lifes. I 'm more loose when I paint now, but I like how this turned out.

This is a painting of a woman getting ready to go out for the evening. She is zipping up the back of her dress and her reflection is in the mirror. I also love the orange chair.

Evening Blaze

I was in Cody, Wy and had been painting all day. I was in the truck heading back to the ranch for dinner when the light just poured through the hills. I stopped the truck and set up my easel to catch this painting. It is one of my favorites and it was one of those paintings that was effortless.
